Before formally opening the doors to monthly Chit Chaat Chai gatherings, I hosted a little test dinner to get feedback from fellow food lovers, creative souls, & nurturers a.k.a my favorite LBC girlfriends! On January 31st, the ladies came over for a simple Kathiawary meal that was a staple & one of the many favorites of my family. The menu included 3 courses (this is where the 2nd gen. influence comes in) and went something like this:

Keri & Ghajar ka Achar
sweet & spicy raw mango salsa and a green chili + carrot salad served with pappadum
main
Khadi + Bhindi + Pelay Chawval + Aam Achar
yogurt curry & okra served over lentil brown basmati rice + spicy mango pickle
dessert
Ghajar ka Halva
Carrot pudding with cashews, pistachios, sesame seeds & spices
